About The Position
Under the supervision of the Shift Supervisor, a Porter is responsible for cleaning the building, women's/girl's locker rooms, helping with grounds, and maintaining the facility. The position shift is Wednesday-Friday 3:00pm-9:00pm, Saturday 12:00pm-6:00pm and Sunday 11:00am-5:00pm.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a superior working knowledge of assigned area, and or have a general working knowledge of the facility.
- Must be able to create and maintain positive relationships with other staff, parents, participants, and volunteers within assigned activity.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the facility is attractive and clean, by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintaining upkeep of assigned areas and equipment.
- Operate motorized and non-motorized equipment.
- Record and report all needed repairs; repair as directed.
- Ensure the building and property is secure, and report incidents and hazardous conditions to supervisor, when necessary.
- Replace soap, paper towels and other supplies.
- Plan and execute routine set-ups, breakdowns and installations for facility’s programming needs.
- Strip and wax floor and shampoo rugs as needed.
- Follow YMCA policies and procedures.
- Actively participate in training sessions, designated meetings, and special events.
