About The Position

This is a part-time, temporary/seasonal instructional position. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis to establish an applicant pool, and vacancies are filled from the pool as they occur. The instructor teaches assigned courses and is available to students during the contract period. The role includes preparing course syllabi, outlines when needed, and instructional materials; preparing and managing lab supplies and room arrangements; maintaining lab inventory and ordering supplies; keeping student attendance and grade records; administering student evaluations; and participating in orientation, faculty meetings, and student-retention activities as requested. The instructor also promotes WNC educational programs and services in the communities it serves. The position is listed as exempt, with a full-time equivalent of 15.0%. Compensation is determined according to the Letter of Appointment Salary Schedule. A resume is required with the application.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent in education or experience, from a regionally accredited college or university in the specified discipline or a closely related field.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching college-level courses.
  • Experience with distance education or web teaching modalities.
  • Fluency in Spanish.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with college faculty, staff, and students.

Responsibilities
