Pharmacy Technician

CVS Health•Lakewood, OH
•Onsite

About The Position

CVS Health Pharmacy Technicians support pharmacy operations and service excellence in retail locations. They are often the first point of contact for patients and customers, helping ensure prescriptions are filled promptly, safely, and accurately while providing caring service. Technicians follow Standard Operating Procedures and pharmacy best practices, communicate effectively, and contribute to a safe, inclusive environment. After starting, they must complete the company training program and meet applicable state registration, licensing, and certification requirements; duties may be restricted by the Pharmacy Manager until those requirements are satisfied. Technicians may provide additional patient health care services, such as immunizations and point-of-care testing, or staff offsite clinics when permitted by law and supported by required training and certification. Where permitted, Technician Immunizers complete additional licensure and training, help prepare and administer vaccines, educate patients and refer vaccination questions to the Pharmacist-on-duty, monitor and report adverse reactions, collect and document patient information, and manage vaccine supplies.
