About The Position

Wegmans pharmacy technicians help build customer trust by providing attentive service and supporting customers’ medical care and health-service needs. They work in a fast-paced pharmacy, preparing and dispensing medication safely and in compliance with regulatory standards and company policies. The role also involves processing prescriptions, resolving insurance claim issues, and protecting patient confidentiality.

Requirements

• Proficient computer and data-entry skills.
• Basic math skills, including unit conversions, to perform dosage calculations and determine day supply accurately and support patient safety.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Must be 18 years or older.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service with patience, empathy, and care in a fast-paced environment.
• Perform dosage calculations and unit conversions while following regulatory standards and company policies for safe, compliant medication preparation and dispensing.
• Troubleshoot rejected insurance claims and address issues to support customers’ needs.
• Accurately and efficiently enter prescription information.
• Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and company policies.
• Handle medications properly and follow department policies and procedures.
