About The Position

Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. They work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and do not perform duties that legally may be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Technicians present completed medications to the pharmacist for verification and routinely interact with patients to provide quality service. The posting describes both certified and non-certified Pharmacy Technician qualifications.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Good verbal and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in teams.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with direct customer and patient interactions.
• Problem-solving and organizational skills.
• For the Certified Pharmacy Technician role: meet the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board’s experience requirements for the certification exam and hold certification through a nationally accredited pharmacy organization.
• For the Pharmacy Technician role: no experience required.
• For either role: registration with the Missouri State Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician, or application in process/completed upon hire, with registration obtained within 90 days of hire.
