Pharmacy technicians assist pharmacists in preparing and distributing medications, maintaining drug inventory, and maintaining patient records. They work only under the supervision of a registered pharmacist and do not perform duties that legally may be performed only by a registered pharmacist. Technicians present completed medications to the pharmacist for verification and routinely interact with patients to ensure quality service, along with other applicable duties. The posting covers both a Certified Pharmacy Technician and a Pharmacy Technician. Both roles require a high school diploma or equivalent, applicants to be at least 18, good communication skills, the ability to work independently and collaboratively, comfort working in a fast-paced environment and direct customer and patient interactions, and problem-solving and organizational skills. Certified Pharmacy Technicians must hold certification through a nationally accredited pharmacy organization and have experience as required by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board for its certification exam. The Pharmacy Technician role requires no experience. Both roles require Missouri State Board of Pharmacy registration, or an application in process/completed upon hire, with registration obtained within 90 days of hire.
