About The Position

The RN OR, Charge Preceptor coordinates daily activities and work distribution in the assigned area during the scheduled shift, while also serving as a professional educator and resource for new employees. The role demonstrates clinical expertise and competence. Approximately 80% of the position involves direct patient care and 20% involves Charge-Preceptor duties; the balance between charge and preceptor responsibilities may vary with patient acuity and volume. Care and services are provided to pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. The position combines direct patient care, shift supervision and management, and education, with responsibility for a unit during a clinical shift.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
  • Current Georgia RN license in good standing without limitations.
  • American Heart Association Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Two years of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse (RN).

Nice To Haves

  • BSN degree.
  • Two years of recent experience in the current clinical specialty.
  • Additional life support credential (ACLS, PALS, NRP, etc.) or other clinical specialty certifications relevant to specific units.
  • Visual color acuity, depending on the role in specific units.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care, shift supervision and management, and education during the clinical shift.
  • Set priorities based on the situation at hand.
