About The Position

Weisman Children's is a highly-acclaimed, community-based pediatric organization comprising an acute care rehabilitation hospital, outpatient rehabilitation centers, and medical day care centers. It specializes in delivering individualized, family-centered care, including family and caregivers in every step of the rehab process, along with an interdisciplinary approach to treatment, to help patients reach their fullest potential. The current opening is for a Part-Time Occupational Therapist to join their skilled team of pediatric professionals in Northfield, NJ.
Requirements
- MA/MS/MOT in Occupational Therapy from an AOTA accredited program
- NJ OT licensure or eligibility for licensure
- 1-2 years of pediatric OT experience
- CPR certification
- Strong organizational / time management skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Ability to work well as a team member
Nice To Haves
- Experience with treating sensory processing disorders in an outpatient setting
- Experience working with neurological and vestibular diagnoses
Responsibilities
- Administration of appropriate treatment techniques and modalities for pediatric rehabilitation of children aged birth to 21
- Adherence to the scope and standards of practice as defined by the American Occupational Therapy Association
- Uses creativity, professional judgment, and problem solving techniques to achieve quality outcomes
- Participates in patient and family teaching and works collaboratively with other disciplines
- Plays an integral role in facilitating functional performance through the integration of physical skills, play based activities, social-emotional development, sensory processing, motor performance, and cognitive abilities
