About The Position
The Communications Operator serves as the first point of contact for patients, visitors, and callers, creating a welcoming and professional experience. The role includes greeting and directing patients and visitors, assisting with appointment check-ins, answering and routing phone calls, and providing exceptional customer service. The position requires a minimum of 24 hours per week, working days Monday through Friday, 3–4 days per week.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Nice To Haves
- Hospital or prior office experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Greet and welcome patients and visitors in a friendly, professional manner.
- Direct patients and visitors to the appropriate departments for check-in.
- Assist patients with arrival and check-in for scheduled appointments.
- Answer incoming phone calls and transfer calls to the appropriate departments.
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a positive and welcoming environment.
- Assist with projects as they become available.
- Demonstrate teamwork through collaboration, working well with others, concern for co-workers, and a team approach to accomplishing service and quality.
- Maintain good working relationships with co-workers, immediate supervisors, and other departments.
- Seek opportunities for continued growth and performance improvement.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner.
- Demonstrate dependability and complete work in a timely manner.
- Support the organization's philosophy, goals, and objectives.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
