About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Experience functioning calmly in pressure situations.
• Experience working with little supervision.
• Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association.
• Proficiency using computers, software, and web-based applications.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to present information clearly and professionally.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with little supervision.
• Ability to use good judgment and handle difficult situations.
• Good organizational and time-management skills.
• Ability to function calmly in pressure situations.
• Ability to move throughout the department and facility.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of very heavy work, including exerting more than 100 pounds of force occasionally, more than 50 pounds frequently, and more than 20 pounds constantly to move objects.
• Ability to work in a patient-care environment with routine exposure to blood, body fluids, tissue, specimens that may contain communicable diseases, and potential exposure to hazardous medications or hazardous waste.

Nice To Haves

• Six months of patient care experience.
• Operating room experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support services as a member of the surgical team.
• Assist with the delivery of patient care, including direct and indirect patient care duties.
• Transport patients, run errands, and relay messages.
• Assist with patient care and room turnover.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment in patient care and surgical support areas.
• Maintain required clinical knowledge, technical skills, training, and credentials.
• Adapt to day-to-day changes in the department or unit.
• Adapt behavior and communication to the specific patient population, including respecting privacy, introducing oneself, explaining services or procedures, requesting permission, and adjusting communication style.
• Perform other related duties as required.
• Remain knowledgeable about applicable laws, accreditation standards, and regulatory requirements and ensure compliance.
• Comply with the employer’s Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct, including immediately reporting suspected unethical conduct and safety, privacy, or compliance concerns.
