About The Position

Requirements

• Current 2nd Class Operating Engineers Certificate of Qualification from TSSA
• Strong analytical and technical skills
• Demonstrated knowledge of all relevant government regulations including Operating Engineers Act and Boiler and Pressure Vessels Act.
• 5 years previous experience as a 2nd Class Operating Engineer in a large Industrial or Manufacturing Environment
• Physically fit
• Ability to maintain equipment in good operating condition

Nice To Haves

• Strong computer skills and high comfort using technology and systems
• Good physical health. for example; capable of working on your feet, sitting, climbing stairs and ladders, bending, kneeling, lifting and squatting.
• Strong knowledge of Boilers, Air Compressors and Reverse Osmosis Systems as to their operation and repair.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with others

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and repair all Boilers, Pressure Vessels and Compressed Air Systems to TSSA standards per the Ontario Operating Engineers Act.
• Use computer and other SCADA systems to supply quality Steam, Compressed Air and Reverse Osmosis Water to internal customers.
• Participate on TPM as required.
• Conduct weekend and plant shutdown security.
