Requirements

  • Actively licensed in SC as a Registered Nurse.
  • Requires 3 + years of experience as an Occupational Health Nurse which includes worker’s compensation case management.
  • Requires 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Requires knowledge of laws and regulations that govern worker’s compensation and environmental health and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • COHN or COHN-S, a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct care for occupational injuries/illnesses per established medical protocols; administer first aid and coordinate referrals and safe transportation as needed.
  • Deliver medical care in compliance with best practices while supporting return-to-work efforts.
  • Support and promote wellness initiatives including health screenings, flu shots, fitness classes, and employee wellbeing programs.
  • Manage all workers’ compensation cases from initial injury reporting through recovery, coordinating with insurers, clinics, and providers to reduce costs and accelerate return to work.
  • Ensure timely and accurate incident reporting; attend claims reviews and hearings, and collaborate on litigation recommendations with HR and EHS leadership.
  • Maintain WC provider networks, resolve service issues, and ensure quality, compliant case documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA requirements, including recordkeeping, bloodborne pathogens, and hearing conservation programs.
  • Promote workplace safety through incident trend analysis, drug screening program support, and coordination of physicals and safety training.
  • Serve as a liaison among management, employees, healthcare providers, and safety committees, supporting health, wellness, and safety across all shifts.
