About The Position

Requirements

• Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
• High School graduate or equivalent
• Minimum of 3 years clinical experience working in a healthcare office setting, scheduling, and/or authorizations.

Nice To Haves

• A basic understanding of medical terminology and surgical procedures can be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate surgical procedures, including surgeon and surgical assistant scheduling, patient scheduling, pre-operative preparation, and post-operative follow up appointments.
• Coordinate with other healthcare providers for patient referrals and manage patient billing and insurance matters related to surgery.
• Communicate effectively with patients, families, and medical staff regarding surgical procedures.
• Inform patients about the details of their surgery, including risks, benefits, and recovery time.
• Ensure all necessary documentation and patient records are in order, including verification of advanced directive status, informed consent and sterilization consent forms when appropriate.
• Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA guidelines.
• Performs other duties as assigned to support overall effectiveness of department and organization
