This role is responsible for assisting patients at the front desk, managing patient records, updating insurance information, collecting co-pays, scheduling follow-up appointments and referrals, and communicating with various parties. The Medical Scheduler will also handle patient registration and scheduling for complex patients, prepare disability and out-of-work paperwork, discuss financial obligations, and explain regulatory forms. The position requires the ability to work in multiple systems, understand the practice's strategic plan, and support departmental policies and initiatives. A key aspect of this role is to ensure an optimal patient experience and promote patient and employee safety.
