About The Position
The Medical Imaging Tech Assistant greets and prepares patients for radiographic examinations and assists the radiographer as needed. The role performs a wide variety of tasks supporting department operations, including secretarial and patient transport duties. It is an excellent opportunity for Radiologic Technology students.
Requirements
- High school education or equivalent.
- Good oral and written communication skills and strong interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of examinations, equipment, and limitations.
- Ability to anticipate the needs of technologists and patients and fulfill them without constant supervision.
- Ability to learn biomedical electronic radiologic imaging, computer data entry, and hemodynamic monitoring skills.
Nice To Haves
- Prior patient care or handling experience is preferred.
- Transporter experience, or demonstrated desire, motivation, thorough actions, and ability to learn additional skills to advance to this level.
Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for radiographic examinations.
- Assist the radiographer as needed.
- Perform tasks supporting department operations, including secretarial and transport duties.
- Participate in orientation and continuing education, and maintain knowledge and skills related to areas of expertise.
- Complete annual population-specific competency requirements for populations served.
