About The Position
The Certified Medical Assistant works at the Heart and Vascular Center Robinson in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. The role combines clinical and administrative duties. Clinical work includes rooming patients, collecting vital signs, reviewing medication lists and patient medical and social histories, collecting specimens, performing basic laboratory tests, and administering injections and medications as directed by a provider. Administrative duties include ordering supplies, updating and maintaining medical records, obtaining referrals and authorizations, and scheduling appointments. The schedule is Monday through Friday during daylight hours, with no weekends or major holidays. A hiring bonus of up to $1,000 is offered for full-time Medical Assistants.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Medical Assistant certification, such as AAMA CMA, AMT RMA, NHA CCMA, NCCT NCMA, or NAHP NRCMA.
- CPR certification.
- Computer experience.
- Successful completion of applicable clearances as outlined in Human Resources policy HR-106 within 90 days of commencing employment.
Nice To Haves
- Medical Assistant diploma or degree program.
- Minimum of one year of medical assisting experience.
- Proficiency in venipuncture.
