About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant works in a family practice clinic and completes clinical and administrative tasks alongside providers to support patient care and smooth clinic operations. The position is the first point of patient care in the clinic and includes rooming and preparing patients according to clinic-specific checklists and procedures. The Medical Assistant measures and documents patient vital signs and other care needs, completes required patient-care documentation such as medical histories and referral requests, and performs procedures under established protocols, including sterile procedure setup and specimen collection. The role also supports day-to-day clinic operations and assists teammates and providers as needed.

Requirements

Credentialed as a Medical Assistant through an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred.
BLS certification is preferred; it must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.
Measurable experience in phlebotomy is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Room and prepare patients according to clinic-specific checklists and procedures.
Measure patient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure using manual and automatic methods as applicable.
Complete required patient-care documentation, including medical histories and referral requests.
Perform patient procedures following established protocols and processes, including sterile procedure setup and specimen collection.
Assist with day-to-day clinic operations and support teammates and providers as needed.
