About The Position

CNY Fertility is a renowned fertility center offering advanced treatments like IVF, IUI, and egg freezing. With a patient-centered approach and cutting-edge technology, we support individuals and couples on their journey to parenthood. The Medical Assistant completes a wide variety of patient care activities and accommodative services for patient and staff; provides assistance to the physician and appropriate medical staff by performing the following duties.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and at least one year of related experience and training; Will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • CPR certification
  • Active Medical Assistant Certification

Nice To Haves

  • Certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) is highly desirable.
  • Prior experience in surgical setting a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Places patients in rooms, assists with recording and taking vital signs. Records patient history, medications, and significant changes.
  • Performs phlebotomy successfully.
  • Collects and labels specimen as outlined in lab orders/requisitions.
  • Transports specimens to the lab promptly for testing.
  • Cleans, stocks, and maintains all exam rooms.
  • Assists with patient medication instructions, helping patient get the proper medications ordered from the pharmacy.
  • Participates in all training, continuing education, and classes relevant to the medical assistant.
  • Greeting and checking in patients.
  • Collect co-pays, patient demographic and insurance information.
  • Answer phone calls when needed.
  • This position may also be responsible for performing other duties as assigned, consistent with the role and operations needs of the organization
