About The Position
SMG Cardiology Specialists are hiring a Medical Assistant! A sign-on bonus of up to 5K is offered to eligible candidates. This full-time position is located in Norfolk, VA, and involves performing patient care and administrative/clerical tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of a Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN).
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Certified Medical Assistant OR Registered Medical Assistant OR Certified Clinical Medical Assistant OR Certified EMT (EMT-B, AEMT)
- BLS certification required within 90 days of hire
- 1 year clinical/administrative experience preferred
- Phlebotomy experience preferred
- Experience with electronic medical records preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform patient care and administrative/clerical related tasks and procedures based on training, education, and competency evaluations, and as delegated by and under the direction/supervision of the Physician, Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (NP/PA), Registered Nurse (RN), or Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
