About The Position

JT4, LLC provides engineering and technical support to multiple western test ranges for the U.S. Air Force, Space Force, and Navy under the Joint Range Technical Services Contract (J-Tech II). This position is located in Dugway, Utah. Working under general technical guidance, the technician specializes in ground-based electronic systems and works on electronic equipment and related devices through installation, maintenance, repair, overhaul, troubleshooting, modification, construction, and testing. The role includes operating and maintaining transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and control equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high-voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems. The employee applies electronic principles and technical references to solve problems, diagnoses malfunctions, and repairs equipment to restore required operating condition. The position also includes component-level troubleshooting, occasional work direction for lower-level technicians, and other related duties. The employee must follow applicable operational, safety, quality, and environmental plans, procedures, and policies. Work may involve shift work, remote locations, and occasional overnight assignments. Duties take place indoors and outdoors, including on uneven or wet surfaces, gravel, or shingled roofs. The work requires climbing stairs, ladders, towers, and scaffolds and lifting up to 50 pounds; heavier items require assistance or mechanical support. A government vehicle may be used as needed. The work supports a federal government contract that requires U.S. citizenship. Some jobs may also require eligibility for a government security clearance, a state-issued driver's license, or other licenses or certifications.

Requirements

  • An associate's degree or higher from an accredited college; or technical schooling with courses in math, basic electronics, and microwave theory; or a military equivalent.
  • A minimum of seven years of hands-on experience.
  • International Society of Certified Electronics Technicians (ISCET) certification; the employer will assist employees in obtaining it if needed.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of general electronics.
  • Demonstrated expertise in electronic, electro-mechanical, and computer systems and the test equipment used to maintain and repair equipment.
  • Experience with tubes, transistors, logic gates, and/or high-power radio frequency (RF) devices.
  • Expert-level troubleshooting and soldering capabilities.
  • U.S. citizenship is required for the federal government contract.
  • Some jobs may require eligibility for a government security clearance, a state-issued driver's license, or other licenses or certifications.
  • Ability to climb stairs, ladders, towers, and scaffolds and lift up to 50 pounds; heavier items require assistance or mechanical support.

Responsibilities

  • Operate and maintain electronic transmitting and receiving equipment, digital and analog computers, industrial measuring and controlling equipment, microwave amplifiers and transmission lines, high-voltage power supplies and keying circuits, indicators and displays, and antenna positioning systems.
  • Apply technical knowledge of electronic principles to solve basic problems using diagrams, schematics, engineering data, and test equipment.
  • Diagnose equipment malfunctions and make repairs to restore equipment to required operating condition.
  • Manipulate computer keyboards and view and interpret computer displays.
  • Troubleshoot to the component level and make needed repairs.
  • Assist and/or provide occasional work direction to lower-level technicians.
  • Perform other job-related duties as required.
  • Read, understand, and implement operational, safety, quality, and environmental requirements pertaining to the job.
