About The Position
Local chemical facility in Theodore, AL is looking for an experienced Material Handler. This role involves operating heavy equipment, loading/unloading and packaging of product, working around moving equipment, and manually handling various materials. The position requires working at heights, climbing ladders and stairs, responding to quality issues, and maneuvering in confined spaces.
Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Clear background check
- Extensive forklift experience
- Ability to stand 55%, walk 20%, and sit 25% of the time
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs
- Ability to frequently push and pull
- Ability to frequently climb and balance
- Ability to frequently stoop, kneel, crouch, reach, and handle
- Ability to operate equipment and drive vehicles
Responsibilities
- Operate heavy equipment including extensive forklift operation
- Load/unload and package product
- Work around rotating/moving equipment while packaging
- Manually handle various materials
- Work at heights including off the top of ladders and the top of railcars and bulk truck trailers
- Climb ladders and stairs to perform various tasks
- Respond quickly to identify and correct quality issues
- Maneuver and work in confined spaces to clean out and prep equipment
