About The Position

Requirements

• Minimum one year experience as a Paramedic in the hospital or Pre-Hospital setting or related experience.
• Knowledge base requisite to the assessment and care for the cardiac / vascular patient.
• Must obtain Cardiovascular Tech, Cardiac Cath Tech or ARRT certification within 12 months of hire.
• Effective oral and written communication skills in the English Language.
• Visual and hearing senses must be adequate to assist with varied operative procedures and surgeon's verbal directives.
• Ability to perform effectively in fast paced, stressful environment.
• BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• ACLS certification from the American Heart Association.
• State of Florida Paramedic License OR Foreign Medical Graduate with a State of Florida License OR Surgical Assitant/Surgical Technician Certification.
• Ability to effectively communicate in writing and orally with all levels of the organization.

Nice To Haves

• CVT, CCT or ARRT Certification (within 12 months of hire)

Responsibilities

• Prepares for and monitors diagnostic and interventional procedures, electrophysiological studies, pacemaker insertions, intra-aortic balloon pumps, structural heart procedures and endovascular procedures.
• Sets up & breaks down equipment.
• Performs hemodynamic calculations for patient reports.
• Able to work well in a fast paced environment, while maintaining composure and courtesy to patients and families.
