About The Position

US Fertility is hiring an Andrology Lab Tech to work at Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, Virginia. The role supports fertility care through laboratory processing and handling of specimens, including semen analysis, semen processing for assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures and intrauterine inseminations (IUIs), and semen cryopreservation. The position also involves frozen-sample shipping and receiving, laboratory supply management, quality-control procedures, and supporting compliance with applicable laws and accreditation requirements.

The stated schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM. One week of paid training at the Rockville lab is required. The posting also lists “Monday - Friday/40 hours.” Compensation is $25 to $32 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• At least one year of laboratory experience.
• A bachelor’s degree in biological science or a related field, or equivalent MLT ASCP certification.
• Ability to support proper sample collection, delivery, and identification, including chain of custody.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with a chemistry analyzer is strongly preferred.
• Tissue culture experience and/or semen processing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ship, receive, and disposition frozen samples.
• Order and receive laboratory supplies.
• Examine and process specimens for routine semen analysis.
• Perform concentration and motility counts and histological techniques to identify leucocytes, immature germ cells, and morphology.
• Process semen for ART procedures and intrauterine inseminations (IUIs).
• Perform semen cryopreservation.
• Ensure proper sample collection, delivery, and identification, including chain of custody.
• Perform daily and monthly quality-control procedures for media and equipment used in the Andrology laboratory.
• Assist laboratory personnel in providing lab services in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines and help maintain laboratory accreditation.
