About The Position

US Fertility has an immediate opening for an Andrology Lab Tech at Shady Grove Fertility in Fairfax, Virginia. The role supports laboratory services and patient care in reproductive medicine, including processing and analyzing semen specimens, preparing samples for assisted reproductive technology procedures, and maintaining quality control and accreditation standards. The schedule is every other Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 AM to 12:30 PM, plus holidays that fall on the assigned rotation. One week of paid training in the Rockville lab is required. The posting also lists Monday–Friday/40 hours. Compensation is $25 to $32 per hour, commensurate with experience.

Requirements

• At least one year of laboratory experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in biological science or a related field, or MLT ASCP certification equivalent.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with a chemistry analyzer is strongly preferred.
• Tissue culture experience and/or semen processing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ship, receive, and determine the disposition of frozen samples.
• Order and receive laboratory supplies.
• Examine and process specimens for routine semen analysis.
• Perform counts for concentration and motility, and use histological techniques to identify leucocytes, immature germ cells, and morphology.
• Process semen for ART procedures and intrauterine inseminations (IUIs).
• Perform semen cryopreservation.
• Ensure proper sample collection, delivery, and identification, including chain of custody.
• Perform daily and monthly quality control procedures for media and equipment used in the Andrology laboratory.
• Assist laboratory personnel in performing lab services in accordance with Federal, State, and local laws and guidelines to help ensure the laboratory maintains accreditation.
