About The Position

US Fertility is hiring a part-time Andrology Lab Technician at Fertility Center of Illinois’ Chicago on Chestnut office in Chicago, Illinois. The position is scheduled every Saturday and Sunday from 6:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., with occasional holidays, and pays $23.00 per hour, commensurate with experience. The technician supports the andrology laboratory by handling specimens and frozen samples, conducting semen analyses and related procedures, maintaining quality controls, and helping ensure laboratory services meet applicable laws, guidelines, and accreditation requirements.

Requirements

At least one year of laboratory experience.
Bachelor’s degree in biological science or a related field, or equivalent MLT ASCP certification.

Nice To Haves

Experience with a chemistry analyzer is strongly preferred.
Tissue culture experience and/or semen processing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

Ship, receive, and disposition frozen samples.
Order and receive laboratory supplies.
Examine and process specimens for routine semen analysis.
Perform concentration and motility counts and histological techniques to identify leucocytes, immature germ cells, and morphology.
Process semen for assisted reproductive technology (ART) procedures and intrauterine inseminations (IUIs).
Perform semen cryopreservation.
Ensure proper sample collection, delivery, and identification, including chain of custody.
Perform daily and monthly quality-control procedures for media and equipment used in the andrology laboratory.
Assist laboratory personnel in providing laboratory services in accordance with federal, state, and local laws and guidelines and maintaining laboratory accreditation.
