About The Position

The Clinical Lab Tech Assistant performs assigned duties at the clinical bench in the microbiology laboratory. Responsibilities include receiving, aliquoting, handling, and storing biological specimens; performing and resulting waived testing; performing add-on testing; maintaining workflow for technologists; and stocking supplies as needed. This is a full-time evening-shift position at The Valley Hospital in Paramus.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification from ASCP is required, or must be obtained within 18 months of hire.
A minimum of 2–3 years in a related laboratory environment.
Organized, able to prioritize work and multitask, and detail-oriented.
Effective communication and computer skills.
Able to provide detailed information, learn laboratory requirements, and use available resources to answer questions.
Able to mentor and consistently perform work competently while following required procedures and protocols.
