Clinical Lab Tech Assistant, Microbiology, Full Time, Evening
About The Position
The Clinical Lab Tech Assistant performs duties at the clinical bench in the laboratory, including receiving, aliquoting, handling, and storing biological specimens; performing and resulting waived testing; performing add-on testing; maintaining workflow for technologists; and stocking supplies as needed. The role requires organized, detail-oriented work, effective communication, multitasking, and consistent competent performance in accordance with procedures and protocols required by regulatory agencies such as CAP, the Joint Commission, and NJDOH. The position is located at The Valley Hospital in Paramus and is a full-time evening role. The listed pay range is $21.90–$27.37 per hour. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Medical Laboratory Assistant (MLA) certification from ASCP, or obtain it within 18 months of hire.
- A minimum of 2–3 years in a related laboratory environment.
- Be organized, prioritize work, multitask, and demonstrate attention to detail.
- Effective communication and computer skills.
- Ability to learn laboratory requirements and use available resources to answer questions.
- Consistent, competent work performance following applicable procedures and protocols.
