About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Music Therapy from four-year College or university required.
• Credentialed as a Music Therapist – Board Certified (MT-BC).
• Continuing Education: As required for licensure.
• Music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for Patient/Family.
• For field-based positions, employees must have reliable transportation, which will enable them to perform tasks and responsibilities in a timely and appropriate fashion.
• Must provide proof of valid automobile insurance, a copy of which will be placed in the employee’s HR file.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of two (2) years paid experience in music therapy preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborates with the IDT to implement a plan of care for patients, families and pediatrics, with the approval of the physician, utilizing music therapy.
• Provides supportive social services and bereavement services as determined by the patient/family needs and the interdisciplinary Plan of Care.
• Demonstrates a music performing proficiency and ability to create an effective therapeutic environment for Patient/Family.
• Provides Music therapy and documents Patient/Family assessment, progress towards goals, applied interventions and clinical outcomes in the electronic medical record according to professional standards and Empath Health guidelines.
• Attends memorial services of patients for closure and support of family when appropriate.
