About The Position
Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation is seeking a Student Nurse Tech (SNT) for its inpatient rehabilitation hospital located at 201 Pleasant Hill Rd, Chester NJ. This Per Diem (PRN) position requires current enrollment in an accredited nursing school (ADN or BSN program) and proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent). The hospital is dedicated to providing exceptional and compassionate care to individuals with various conditions such as brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, neurological disorders, orthopedic issues, amputation, and multiple traumas. The role offers support for career growth and personal well-being, including an orientation program, a company-matching 401(k) retirement plan (for eligible part-time/per diem employees), and an opportunity to join the New Graduate Registered Nurse program. The compensation for this position is $23.50/Hour plus a shift differential.
Requirements
- Current enrollment in an accredited nursing school
- Must provide proof of completion of the first year/fundamentals of nursing (or equivalent)
- Knowledge of basic nursing techniques and procedures and aseptic practices is required
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Ability to maintain effective working relations with others, including patients, families, physicians, and other hospital associates
- BLS required upon start
- Four shifts per 6-week schedule
- One Saturday or Sunday, one minor holiday/ major holiday
Responsibilities
- Work collaboratively with our nursing (RNs, Nursing Assistants) and therapy teams
- Assist patients in their rehabilitation process
- Encourage and support patients through the recovery process and gently guide them to reach their goals
- Obtain vital signs
- Assist patients with daily activities
- Promptly answering call lights
- Report any issues or progress observed
- Reinforce rehab techniques as assigned by the therapy team
