About The Position

The Summer Intern will join Voya Investment Management’s Summer Student Program and support the Renewable Energy Infrastructure Debt (REID) team in administering its fund and executing its investment strategy. The role offers practical experience in infrastructure investing through portfolio monitoring, fund operations, investment evaluation, market research, and preparation of materials for internal and external stakeholders. The position is based in Voya’s New York office, with expected onsite presence an average of up to three days per week to support team and business priorities. The intern will work with investment, asset management, finance, legal, compliance, and operations colleagues and contribute to REID team assignments.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate institution and pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
Demonstrated interest in investment management, private credit, project finance, renewable energy, power, or infrastructure.
Strong analytical, quantitative, research, and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to detail.
Clear written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to present information concisely and professionally.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
Ability to manage multiple assignments, work collaboratively, exercise sound judgment, and handle confidential information appropriately.

Nice To Haves

Coursework or experience in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related field.
Interest in gaining practical experience in infrastructure investing, private credit, renewable energy, power, and energy transition sectors.

Responsibilities

Assist with day-to-day administration of the REID fund, including maintaining investment, portfolio, pipeline, and reporting materials.
Support evaluation and execution of prospective investments through financial analysis, market and company research, due diligence, and review of transaction materials.
Monitor portfolio company and project performance, including operating, financial, construction, and market developments.
Assist in preparing investment committee memoranda, portfolio reviews, investor materials, presentations, and other internal reporting.
Research renewable energy, power, digital infrastructure, energy transition, and related infrastructure sectors to inform the fund’s investment strategy.
Coordinate with investment, asset management, finance, legal, compliance, and operations colleagues on fund- and transaction-related matters.
Complete other analytical and administrative assignments in support of the REID team.
Look for opportunities to responsibly use available technology, automation, and AI tools to improve research, analysis, reporting, and day-to-day efficiency.
Deliver accurate, timely, and well-organized analysis and reporting while demonstrating attention to detail, sound judgment, confidentiality, and disciplined execution.
