About The Position

This position is part of Voya Investment Management (Voya IM) and its Summer Student Program, which gives students firsthand experience in the investment management industry while working alongside professionals across the organization. The Summer Intern will support the Renewable Energy Infrastructure Debt (REID) team in administering the fund and executing its investment strategy, gaining practical exposure to infrastructure investing through portfolio monitoring, fund operations, investment evaluation, market research, and preparation of materials for internal and external stakeholders.

The role is based in Voya’s New York office, with expected onsite presence on average up to three days per week to support team and business priorities.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Currently enrolled in an accredited undergraduate institution and pursuing a bachelor’s degree.
• Demonstrated interest in investment management, private credit, project finance, renewable energy, power, or infrastructure.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, research, and problem-solving skills, with careful attention to detail.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present information concisely and professionally.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments, work collaboratively, exercise sound judgment, and handle confidential information appropriately.

Nice To Haves

• Coursework or experience in finance, accounting, economics, engineering, or a related field.
• Interest in gaining practical experience in infrastructure investing, private credit, renewable energy, power, and energy transition sectors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day administration of the REID fund, including maintaining investment, portfolio, pipeline, and reporting materials.
• Support evaluation and execution of prospective investments through financial analysis, market and company research, due diligence, and review of transaction materials.
• Monitor portfolio company and project performance, including operating, financial, construction, and market developments.
• Assist in preparing investment committee memoranda, portfolio reviews, investor materials, presentations, and other internal reporting.
• Research renewable energy, power, digital infrastructure, energy transition, and related infrastructure sectors to inform the fund’s investment strategy.
• Coordinate with investment, asset management, finance, legal, compliance, and operations colleagues on fund- and transaction-related matters.
• Complete other analytical and administrative assignments in support of the REID team.
