About The Position

Remington College, a non-profit, non-traditional institution with high ethical standards, is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic process control/instrumentation professional to educate students earning their associate’s degree in process technology. This full-time position is based at our Baton Rouge Campus. The role involves training students using accepted and approved instructional methodology, preparing lesson plans, teaching assigned courses, evaluating student progress, and participating in administrative and professional development activities. The instructor will also supervise students' use of tools and equipment and administer tests to measure progress.

Requirements

  • Must believe in the power of sharing your knowledge, motivating others, and putting students first and must be passionate about training tomorrow’s work force.
  • Associate’s degree or higher.
  • At least four (4) years of experience in process control instrumentation.
  • Proficient in basic computer skills.
  • Strong customer service skills, public speaking ability, and detail orientation.

Nice To Haves

  • Some teaching experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Train students in your field of expertise using accepted and approved instructional methodology.
  • Prepare lesson plans using industry-standard education approaches (e.g., multimedia, adult learning methodology).
  • Teach courses as assigned, instructing and evaluating students, developing students’ skills and encouraging growth, and tracking their attendance, performance, and grades.
  • Participate in various administrative activities (e.g., attending faculty/staff meetings or in-service meetings), graduation ceremonies, and continuing professional development activities.
  • Supervise and monitor students' use of tools and equipment.
  • Observe and evaluate students' work to determine progress, providing feedback, and making suggestions for improvement.
  • Administer tests to measure progress and evaluate training effectiveness.
