Vanderbilt Health is seeking a PRN Staff Pharmacist for Pharmacy Services at Vanderbilt Tullahoma-Harton Hospital. The pharmacist fills medication orders, monitors patient medication therapy, provides drug information, and supervises and directs support personnel. The role includes reviewing and interpreting physician orders, identifying therapeutic incompatibilities, and compounding, packaging, labeling, and dispensing medications. Pharmacists monitor drug therapies and advise on interventions. Position responsibilities include CCU and Stepdown patient rounds, discharge counseling, medication reconciliation review, controlled substance reporting, and Pharmacy Technician oversight. Shifts are either 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. or 9:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m. Pharmacy hours are Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m.–7:00 p.m., and Saturday, Sunday, and holidays, 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. The minimum requirement is one shift per month, with opportunities to pick up additional shifts as available. The pharmacist participates in clinical activities, including medication education for patients or staff and documenting appropriate interventions in the real-time clinical surveillance system. The role also involves managing departmental resources, providing patient-specific drug information and recommendations to health care workers and patients, and establishing measurable yearly goals and objectives. The position requires a Tennessee pharmacist license and a bachelor's degree. Relevant work experience is required, with an experience level of one year.
