Requirements
- Minimum of 2+ years of experience operating heavy equipment in utility or civil construction preferred
- Ability to operate additional equipment such as clean up dozers and backhoes, skid steers, excavators; (trenchers, mini-and cable plows a plus)
- Strong understanding of safe excavation practices and utility locate interpretation
- Ability to read and follow construction plans, utility maps, and field drawings
- Experience working around underground utilities in active job sites
- Strong focus on safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship
- Valid driver’s license with clean record past 3 years (CDL preferred)
- Willingness and able to travel throughout U.S 100% of time and work 50+ hours per week as needed

- MOS Codes 12N, 12V, 21E, and 21J relate well to this position.
Responsibilities
- Support crew productivity on projects of varying lengths of time
- Maintain strict safety standards around underground utilities
- Operate light and heavy construction equipment, including backhoes, trenchers, cable plows, hydraulic reel trailers, cleanup dozers, plowcat/pullcat equipment and other job-related machinery, for utility installation and right-of-way construction projects
- Perform routine equipment inspections and basic maintenance
- Read and interpret utility locates, maps, and above-ground markers to ensure safe excavation
- Troubleshoot field issues to keep projects on schedule
- Work 50-60 hours per week and travel 100% of the time (except PTO & Holidays) nationwide
