Heavy Equipment Operator - Dozer
About The Position
Archer Western, a member of the Walsh Group, is hiring a Heavy Equipment Operator for the WEGA/WB Casey WWRF Biosolids project in Jonesboro, Georgia. The primary function is to operate a variety of heavy equipment at the worksite to construct, maintain, or repair highway, heavy civil, or building-type structures. Operators may also assist with other jobsite duties as needed and must operate equipment in compliance with company safety policies and procedures. The role may involve equipment vibration, jolts, and loud noise. Employees may have opportunities to work across the company’s Building, Transportation, and Water Divisions and access industry-leading training. Requirements
- Ability to comply with all safety policies and procedures.
- Ability to communicate effectively with coworkers and supervisors to help ensure projects are completed properly.
- Strong work ethic and desire to learn.
- Good manual dexterity.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to stand, bend, kneel, or sit for long periods.
- Ability to work in adverse weather conditions if required.
- Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Nice To Haves
- 3–5 years of operating experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Operate a variety of equipment to clear land, trim backfill, and move or transport dirt, rocks, and other aggregate materials.
- Follow operating procedures for loading and unloading materials.
- Oil, grease, service, and make normal maintenance adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Perform daily safety and maintenance checks.
- Complete required paperwork and other documentation.
- Assist with other jobsite duties and perform related tasks as needed.
