About The Position
This position is located at the U.S. Army Special Operations Command (USASOC) in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. The analyst oversees the Army Service Component Command and Component Subordinate Commands/Units and provides strategic planning evaluations and assessments to support ongoing process improvements aligned with the organization’s strategic direction. The role analyzes accounting requirements, procedures, and reports to ensure the integrity of financial and man-hour data; provides financial analysis in budgeting and resource management to support financial management operations and programs; reviews and interprets command guidance, policy statements, directives, and financial regulations; and uses automated financial management systems and computer-generated products. The incumbent also serves as the division’s approving official for the Defense Travel System. The position requires a Top Secret security clearance, certification in the Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) Program, and Financial Management Certification level 2. Travel may be required up to 25% of the time. Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination and a background investigation, and a one-year probationary or trial period may apply.
Requirements
- One year of specialized experience utilizing financial management systems to monitor financial data or business practices and assess the effectiveness of existing regulations and programs.
- One year of specialized experience creating reports and resolving financial system issues.
- One year of specialized experience developing financial policies and following procedures to ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- One year of specialized experience utilizing the Defense Travel System and automated financial management systems.
- Applicants who held a General Schedule position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-12).
- Must obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.
- Must obtain certification in the Certified Defense Financial Manager (CDFM) Program.
- Must obtain and maintain Financial Management Certification level 2.
- Must provide proof of U.S. citizenship.
- Education cannot be substituted for the required experience.
- Applicants must meet an eligible employment authority category listed in the announcement.
