About The Position

As a Senior Data Analyst focused on financial reporting, you will work with product, treasury, finance, accounting, and data engineering teams to meet reporting and regulatory requirements. You will help organize and clarify important financial information, draw insights from company data, and support Circle’s goal of becoming a data-driven company. The role calls for close attention to detail, an analytical approach, and ownership in helping teams understand how financial systems work.

You will develop and maintain data requirements, models, business logic, reporting layers, and automated systems that support reliable financial and regulatory reporting. You will also help identify and resolve data or reporting problems, communicate findings to broader audiences, and collaborate with accounting and treasury as opportunities and regulations evolve.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative major such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
• At least 5 years of experience in data analytics.
• Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language, such as R or Python, for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
• Experience with bank reporting, business banking, financial services, or a similar industry.
• Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain systems clearly to non-technical audiences and potentially regulators.
• Strong collaboration skills to align product, product engineering, data engineering, finance, accounting, and treasury teams on reporting and requirements.
• Strong ownership and accountability in triaging reporting issues, investigating root causes, driving resolution, and communicating with cross-functional partners.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to high integrity, respectful collaboration, and excellence.

Responsibilities

• Work with company teams to understand how products affect reporting obligations and collaborate with accounting, treasury, finance, and data engineering on data requirements, models, business logic, and reporting layers.
• Develop an understanding of Circle’s finances and accounting, and help make their processes transparent.
• Build frameworks and systems to detect potential problems, lead efforts to resolve them, and design solutions to prevent recurrence.
• Build scalable automated solutions using SQL, Superset, other reporting tools, scripting languages, and AI.
• Occasionally present results to broader audiences to explain engineering and financial systems.
• Partner with accounting and treasury to solve data problems arising from new opportunities and regulations.
• Take ownership of investigating and resolving inaccurate numbers or broken reports, including identifying root causes and keeping cross-functional partners informed.
