The analyst will use Circle’s data to produce insights and help teams approach financial and reporting problems effectively. The position involves understanding how products affect reporting obligations, translating those needs into data requirements, models, business logic, and reporting layers, and developing systems to identify and resolve problems. The analyst will build scalable automated solutions, communicate findings to broader audiences, and collaborate with accounting and treasury as new opportunities and regulations create data challenges.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative major such as Finance, Accounting, Economics, Mathematics, or Engineering.
  • At least 5 years of experience in data analytics.
  • Proficiency in SQL and at least one programming language, such as R or Python, for data manipulation, analysis, and modeling.
  • Experience with bank reporting, business banking, financial services, or a similar industry.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to explain owned and designed systems clearly to non-technical audiences and potentially regulators.
  • Strong collaboration skills to align product, product engineering, data engineering, finance, accounting, and treasury on reporting and requirements.
  • Strong ownership and accountability in triaging, investigating, and resolving reporting and data issues while informing cross-functional partners.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to high integrity, respectful communication, and analytical excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Partner across the company to understand how products affect reporting duties and design data requirements, data models, business logic, and reporting layers with accounting, treasury, finance, and data engineering.
  • Develop an understanding of Circle’s financial and accounting practices and make their inner workings transparent.
  • Build frameworks and systems to identify potential problems, lead efforts to resolve them, and design solutions to prevent recurrence.
  • Build scalable automated solutions using SQL, Superset, other reporting tools, scripting languages, and AI.
  • Occasionally share results with larger audiences to explain engineering and financial systems.
  • Partner with accounting and treasury to solve data problems arising from new opportunities and regulations.
  • Take ownership of investigating incorrect numbers or broken reports, identifying root causes, driving issues to resolution, and keeping cross-functional partners informed.
