About The Position

USAA is hiring a Financial Analyst Lead to lead financial processes and expense categories, solve complex business problems, and perform forecasting, planning, and financial modeling related to AI investments. The role mentors team members on complex financial processes, motivates the team to deliver advanced analytics and insights on key business drivers, and assists management with task assignment and workflow while ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements. The position advises senior management on financial issues and provides proactive, forward-looking solutions to support decision-making. It leads enterprise planning initiatives, directs analysis and the development or improvement of critical processes and technologies, and guides cross-functional teams through problem resolution. The role also ensures business risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies. The work environment is flexible, with an in-office requirement of four days per week. The position may be based in San Antonio, Texas, or Charlotte, North Carolina. Relocation assistance is unavailable.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field, or four years of relevant education and/or experience.
Six years of financial/accounting analysis experience, including two years leading strategic financial/accounting opportunities; alternatively, an advanced degree in a related field, progress toward a CPA or CFA designation, and four years of financial/accounting analysis experience, including one year leading strategic financial/accounting opportunities.
Subject-matter-expert knowledge of data analysis and relevant technical accounting/finance.
Subject-matter-expert business acumen in financial services operations, finance/accounting industry practices, and emerging trends.
Experience communicating complex financial/accounting topics to varied audiences.
Experience using financial/accounting technologies and proposing recommendations for improvements.
Experience using Microsoft Office Excel for significant financial data analysis and reporting.
Experience applying and adhering to financial regulations and compliance requirements.
Experience producing financial reports and providing data-based recommendations.
Working knowledge of GAAP.

Responsibilities

Lead, develop, and motivate the team to provide advanced analytics and insights about key business drivers.

Serve as a trusted advisor to senior management on financial issues.
Recommend solutions to short-term and strategic financial business problems.
Teach and mentor others on complex financial processes, business drivers, and systems, supporting knowledge sharing and transfer.
Review analysts’ work and assist management in assigning tasks and managing workflow.
Lead initiatives to develop an integrated enterprise planning process across multiple companies and/or staff agency processes and technologies.
Direct analyses and guide the development, enhancement, and implementation of critical processes, programs, and technologies.
Lead cross-functional teams through problem resolution and advise senior management on issues.
Apply expert knowledge of the business, its products, and processes to complex assignments and problem resolution across multiple systems, functions, or processes.
Ensure business risks are identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
Perform forecasting, planning, and financial modeling related to AI investments.
