About The Position

Requirements

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and at least 5 years of applied experience.
• Hands-on experience delivering end-to-end solutions across system design, application development, testing, and production operational stability.
• Terraform Infrastructure-as-Code experience, including reusable modules, remote state and locking, and workspace and environment best practices.
• Practical cloud-native engineering experience designing and operating workloads on AWS.
• Strong AWS compute expertise, including EC2, EKS, and Lambda, and event-driven architecture and integration using EventBridge, SNS, SQS, and Kinesis Data Stream, with attention to performance, resiliency, and cost.
• AWS networking knowledge, including VPC, subnets, security groups, NACLs, Route 53, and load balancers, to design secure and resilient architectures.
• Experience with AWS storage and data platforms, including S3 and EBS, and databases such as RDS, Aurora, or DynamoDB as applicable.
• Strong automation and delivery capabilities, including CI/CD pipeline design, Terraform integration into workflows, automated validation and testing such as linting and plan approvals, and scripting with Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, test acceleration, or troubleshooting, and setting expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs and outputs, and security and resiliency expectations; experience coaching engineers on safe, compliant adoption.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, using creative approaches to build solutions and break down technical problems.
• Develop secure, high-quality production code; review and debug code written by others.
• Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate recurring remediation to improve operational stability of applications and systems.
• Lead team evaluation sessions on architectural designs, technical credentials, and applicability to existing systems and information architecture.
• Lead Software Engineering communities of practice to promote awareness and use of emerging technologies.
• Drive adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
• Establish consistent validation standards for AI-assisted work, including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing, and promote reuse of effective patterns.
• Use Software Development Life Cycle tools, including approved AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value of automation.
