About The Position

Requirements

• At least 10 years of experience in EDI, healthcare, or enterprise application operations, software or data engineering, with strong AWS experience.
• Strong knowledge of EDIFECS architecture and transaction lifecycles.
• Strong experience in AWS cloud environments.
• Hands-on understanding of Edifecs XEServer, including orchestrations, batch flows, and execution contexts.
• Hands-on understanding of XEngine, including validation, rulesets, and canonical structures.
• Hands-on understanding of TPM, including trading partner configuration, routes, and agreements.
• Hands-on understanding of EDI Gateway visibility, audit, search, and reprocessing.
• Hands-on understanding of SpecBuilder, including Implementation Guide definitions and map development.
• Experience managing EDI integration and interface technical aspects for inbound and outbound connectivity, including AS2, SFTP, FTPS, and HTTPS channels.
• Experience with API-based integrations and gateway services.
• Experience troubleshooting EDI and performing root-cause analysis of transaction failures, mapping or misalignment defects, partner-specific rejection patterns, batch job flow failures, and throughput or performance degradation.
• Experience with job throughput optimization, engine performance tuning, JVM tuning and memory management, high availability and failover orchestration, and monitoring dashboards.
• Understanding of AWS EC2 instance sizing, OS tuning, storage I/O patterns, file transfer endpoints, routing, firewall coordination, network path debugging, and SSL/TLS certificate lifecycle management.
• Proficiency with Git and GitHub, including branching strategies, pull requests, and collaborative workflows.
• Knowledge of compliance, audit, and partner governance.
• Infrastructure-as-code experience with Ansible and Terraform.
• Strong communication skills, including explaining technical architecture decisions and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.
• Experience gathering and translating business reporting requirements into technical data models.
• Ability to resolve ambiguous architecture decisions with limited direction.
• Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum and Kanban, and JIRA.
• Strong documentation habits, including architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, and migration runbooks.
• Ability to collaborate with development, operations, and security teams.
• U.S. citizenship is required.
• Must possess or qualify for a Public Trust (MBI).
• Must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information and be able to obtain a government-granted security clearance.

Nice To Haves

• EDIFECS certification.
• Deep hands-on EDIFECS experience with healthcare X.12 EDI transaction workflows, including medical claims transactions such as 837, 834, and 277, and 270/271 and 278 transactions.
• Knowledge of HIPAA compliance requirements in cloud data architecture.
• Experience with healthcare payer/PBM systems, clearinghouses, or pharmacy operations.
• AWS certification.
• Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Edifecs application support organization as platform manager, ensuring operational stability, scalability, compliance, and strategic alignment.
• Provide technical oversight, manage staffing, and drive roadmap execution.
• Partner with product, architecture, vendor, and business teams.
• Guide architecture decisions, modernization efforts, cloud scalability, and performance strategies.
• Configure and maintain XEServer, XEngine, Trusted Platform Modules (TPMs), SpecBuilder, and related modules.
• Guide EDI Analysts in building, deploying, and optimizing Edifecs processing rules, routing logic, and batch workflows.
• Analyze and resolve mapping issues, validation failures, functional errors, and performance bottlenecks.
• Manage system logging, JVM tuning, and certificate and keystore configurations.
• Support release deployments, environment refreshes, patching, and upgrades.
• Collaborate with EDI Analysts, DevSecOps Engineers, cloud teams, and business teams.
• Troubleshoot EDI transaction failures, mapping defects, partner-specific rejection patterns, batch job flow failures, and throughput or performance degradation.
• Optimize job throughput and engine performance; tune JVMs and memory management; support high availability and failover orchestration; and use monitoring dashboards for proactive detection.
• Support EDI inbound and outbound connectivity and API-based integrations and gateway services.
• Gather and translate business reporting requirements into technical data models.
• Communicate technical architecture decisions and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and document architecture diagrams, data dictionaries, and migration runbooks.
• Collaborate with development, operations, and security teams to support seamless production system operations.
