About The Position

GHD is seeking a Senior Engineer / Project Manager with civil and/or structural engineering experience to join its growing waterfront engineering practice in Alaska. The role involves technical solutions for maritime and coastal projects, including design leadership, project management, client management, and business development support. The successful candidate may help build and lead a team, support training and mentorship of engineers and technicians, and participate in GHD’s internal leadership team. The position follows a hybrid work model, with three days per week in the office.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited university.
  • At least 8 years of engineering or consulting experience.
  • Attention to detail and ability to complete diverse assignments.
  • Civil and/or structural engineering experience.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in identifying business development opportunities and assist with or lead proposals in the Alaska market.
  • Contribute to and manage the development of technical reports, plans, and specifications.
  • Maintain communication with project teams throughout GHD’s US West region.
  • Coordinate and work with cross-discipline teams.
  • Coach, train, and empower project team members; oversee project requirements for safety, quality, and efficiency throughout project duration.
  • Interact with clients, suppliers, and regulators, and manage projects through successful completion.
  • Keep technical qualifications and licenses up to date.
  • Participate in local committees, action groups, and special interest organizations to further skills and GHD brand recognition.
  • Stay informed about market trends, client spending, assets, resiliency, and logistics.
  • Work in accordance with GHD’s Core Values: Safety, Teamwork, Trust, and Integrity.
