About The Position

Requirements

• Minimum three years of experience in an industrial maintenance capacity is preferred.
• Ability to speak, understand, read, and write in English.
• Ability to apply mathematical concepts to practical situations.
• Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Computer literacy, including intermediate Microsoft Excel skills.
• Ability to make routine decisions using company policies and procedures and directions from upper management.
• Ability to stand or walk on concrete floors for up to 12 hours per day, six days per week.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit; use hand-to-finger coordination; handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; and perform standing, stooping, walking, bending, and climbing.
• Ability to meet the position's vision requirements, including close, distance, and peripheral vision, depth perception, and adjusting focus.

Nice To Haves

• Food or medical plant experience.
• Knowledge of and compliance with GMP and food manufacturing best practices.
• Basic hydraulics and pneumatics experience.
• Ammonia refrigeration experience.
• Experience in a fast-paced, cold, wet production environment.
• Strong knowledge of electrical components, including motors, drives, relays, sensors, and control circuits.
• Understanding of the relationship between a PLC and mechanical assemblies.
• Advanced knowledge or skills with forklifts, scissor lifts, and electric pallet jacks.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret equipment manuals, drawings, schematics, blueprints, and work orders to perform maintenance.
• Provide emergency repairs on production equipment to keep the facility operational.
• Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs on production equipment, including replacing failed components such as bearings, belts, motors, and power or control lines.
• Diagnose equipment problems and failures, and repair or replace parts as required.
• Disassemble and reassemble machines and components using specifications or blueprints, precision measuring instruments, and hand tools.
• Adjust devices and control systems.
• Install, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems, including systems at 480V and below, and control voltage systems.
• Safely diagnose, isolate, and repair electrical faults in industrial equipment and systems.
• Use electrical drawings, schematics, and test instruments to identify root causes of issues.
• Follow lockout/tagout and other safety procedures.
• Communicate findings clearly and complete repairs in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
• Complete required physical and digital paperwork.
• Collaborate with Production with a strong customer service mindset.
