About The Position

Cleaver-Brooks is hiring an Electrical Technician for its Lincoln, Nebraska manufacturing team. The role assembles, wires, and tests electrical control panels and related assemblies to engineering schematics, quality standards, and production requirements. It requires interpreting technical drawings, performing accurate wiring and terminations, and carrying out standard electrical testing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The position is on first shift, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Daily overtime may be required after eight hours, and occasional weekend work may be needed. The work takes place in a manufacturing environment with moving equipment and moderate noise, and requires use of personal protective equipment.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED preferred.
At least 3 years of electrical assembly experience in a manufacturing environment.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
Ability to read a tape measure accurately.
Basic computer skills for data entry and file access.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-based manufacturing environment.
Working understanding of electrical fundamentals, including volts, amps, and ohms.
Experience using hand tools, wiring tools, and various power tools.
Proficiency using multimeters and electrical testing equipment.
Knowledge of common electrical components such as PLCs, transformers, capacitors, and relays.
Understanding of electrical logic and component function within a circuit.
Ability to perform standard electrical testing procedures.

Responsibilities

Assemble and wire electrical control panels, junction boxes, and subassemblies according to engineering schematics and blueprints.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, ladder diagrams, wiring diagrams, assembly drawings, and parts lists.
Mount back-panel devices and components according to layout specifications.
Cut, trim, strip, route, and fasten wiring for secure and organized installations.
Make accurate electrical terminations and connections.
Install and mount electrical conduit and panels as required.
Inspect parts and completed assemblies for quality, fit, alignment, and defects.
Measure dimensions and clearances to ensure proper assembly.
Perform functional and continuity testing using multimeters and related diagnostic tools.
Identify and correct basic wiring discrepancies or assembly errors before final inspection.
Tag and label components and assemblies accurately.
Report labor and production data in company systems.
Maintain productivity aligned with plant performance goals.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and support 5S workplace standards.
Maintain a clean and organized work area.
Assist in training new or less experienced team members.
Follow safety policies, OSHA regulations, quality standards, and the Company's Code of Conduct.
Perform other duties as assigned.
