About The Position

The Electrical Test Technician performs electrical testing of dry-type transformers at Hitachi Energy’s Bland, Virginia facility. The role supports production and research and development testing, helping ensure products meet safety, quality, and performance requirements and comply with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines. Work takes place in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and involves close collaboration with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams.

Requirements

U.S. citizenship required.
Associate degree or technical certificate in Electrical Technology or a related field.
Experience using electrical instrumentation, measurement systems, and technical documentation.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with transformer technology, low- and medium-voltage power systems, or international testing standards.

Responsibilities

Perform electrical testing of dry-type transformers in accordance with UL, IEEE, IEC, and other applicable standards.
Support production and R&D testing activities while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.
Accurately document test procedures, data, and results.
Troubleshoot test setups and assist in identifying opportunities for process improvement.
Collaborate with engineering, quality, and manufacturing teams to optimize product performance.
Support customer visits, audits, and inspections during testing activities.
Provide flexible support to other production areas as business needs require.
Work independently while contributing to team goals and operational excellence.
Ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
