About The Position

We seek an Associate Director to lead, coordinate, and deliver faculty-focused professional development, onboarding, and advancement initiatives. This position oversees systems and programs that support faculty success, including new faculty onboarding, promotion readiness, required trainings, and ongoing professional learning opportunities. The Associate Director ensures alignment with institutional priorities, instructional quality standards, and best practices in teaching, learning, and faculty development.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree.
  • Higher education teaching experience in a college or university.
  • Experience mentoring, coaching, or supporting professional growth.
  • Working knowledge of current adult learning theories.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively and inclusively within a diverse campus community.
  • Comfortable delivering professional development both in-person and online.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience developing and delivering effective professional development training for faculty.
  • Experience with faculty onboarding, evaluation, or promotion processes.
  • Experience with data tracking and program assessment.
  • Knowledge and experience with the following: Microsoft Office software Canvas LMS and associated tools

Responsibilities

  • Lead and advance faculty professional development initiatives that support instructional excellence and align with institutional priorities.
  • Design and deliver onboarding programs for new faculty, including required trainings and onboarding components outlined in Faculty Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Coordinate faculty mentorship, professional learning opportunities, and resources that support teaching effectiveness and career growth.
  • Support faculty promotion and advancement by coordinating professional development, attending PERT meetings, and providing guidance on expectations and timelines.
  • Oversee required faculty training programs and ensure accessibility, engagement, and effective communication.
  • Track participation, completion, and outcomes of faculty development initiatives and use data to drive continuous improvement.
  • Partner with academic units, Human Resources, and institutional stakeholders to support faculty success and instructional quality.
