CHILD PROTECTION TEAM SUPERVISOR

About The Position

This position serves as a Child Protection Team Supervisor and a working supervisor. The role involves establishing and implementing a team-based program of staff development and training for subordinate staff. It also requires establishing and maintaining effective linkages with community organizations, including hospitals, law enforcement, schools, and social service agencies, to enhance child welfare and protective services through operational partnerships. The supervisor will explain and enforce agency policies, procedures, state and area statutes, and requirements. Additionally, the role serves as a liaison with intact/prevention staff and permanency staff to coordinate and facilitate efficient and effective case handoff and client services, and provides input into quality assurance activities. The agency, DCFS, is deeply committed to the welfare and protection of children, aiming to protect them by strengthening and supporting families.

Requirements

  • Requires a master’s degree in social work or a related human services field from a recognized college or university
  • Requires three years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with an MSW OR four years of progressively responsible administrative child welfare experience with a master’s degree in a related human services field
  • Requires that the experience include at least 2 years in the administration of child protection/investigations.
  • Requires completion of a background check and self-disclosure of criminal history.
  • Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties.
  • Requires appropriate, valid driver’s license.
