About The Position

Director of Business Development is primarily responsible for expanding ADM’s cash management business into new geographies. This position requires extraordinary interpersonal skills, a strong command of written and spoken language, excellent communication skills, the ability to establish and nurture profitable business relationships across a diverse range of counterparties including municipalities, school districts and municipal advisors. Director of Business Development should have a strong understanding of public finance including how various public entities fund themselves and how they manage those proceeds, as well as the ability to screen entities who might be in need of cash management services, in addition to the advisors those entities work with to raise funds.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of business development/origination work experience at, or selling into municipalities or other participants in the public finance industry
  • Possess a current Series 50 – Qualified Municipal Advisor Representative license. Or willingness to receive one in the first 6 months of employment
  • Strong financial services acumen and competence with general interest rate terms and requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher
  • Highly focused capacity for execution with a compelling sense of urgency for key priorities
  • Strong personal presence, perspective and competence which will build trust and confidence throughout the OSP Group (OSP, FBT, ADM & AmeriNat) and with external counterparties
  • Established capability to create and nurture long-term relationships at all levels inside and outside the organization
  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency using CRM (e.g., Dynamics, Hubspot or Salesforce), Word, PowerPoint and Excel
  • Strong analytical skills and understanding of municipal finance
  • Understanding of an new opportunity lifecycle from origination to hand off to client services and continued counterparty relationship management.
  • Established network that can be leveraged to source transactions and industry knowledge
  • Ability to travel up to 30-40%

Responsibilities

  • Directly source, screen, and develop new cash management opportunities and be able to present a holistic service offering including business offerings of affiliate companies. This includes managing relationships with counterparties to develop new business opportunities, focusing on expanding and deepening professional relationships and representing the company in its marketplaces.
  • Present new opportunities to ADM management and monitor the ongoing status of opportunities through the opportunity origination funnel and communicate opportunity status to management. Utilize the company’s CRM according to established procedures throughout the lifecycle of business development activity.
  • Develop new and deepen existing relationships through ongoing visits, calls and proactive communication; source opportunities through an existing network of OSP Group clients and broaden the network to ensure a steady supply of new business with a particular focus on municipalities and school districts.
  • Work with management to develop a strategy for the organization aligned with business objectives, including identifying new partnerships and counterparty types as well as cross-selling opportunities across the OSP operating businesses. Participate in sales strategy planning sessions and present plans with measurable outcomes to executive management.
  • Participate in the development and deployment of marketing materials and activities, including arranging speaking engagements (self or others), attending conferences, regular in person counterparty engagement, and cross selling of affiliate company offerings.
