About The Position
Dental One Associates is seeking a Dental Assistant in Springfield, Virginia, to support the clinical team by providing a high level of patient care and satisfaction in a team-based environment. The role includes preparing treatment rooms, sterilizing instruments, assisting dentists during procedures, supporting patients with oral hygiene and post-treatment education, and helping with radiography and diagnostic tasks. The assistant also maintains patient records and documentation, supports scheduling and intake as needed, and follows infection-control, confidentiality, and workplace regulations. The position is full-time, Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Requirements
- Two years of on-the-job experience.
- X-ray certification.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Maintain annual OSHA, HIPAA, CPR, and infection control training as required by law.
Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments.
- Assist dentists during procedures.
- Welcome, comfort, and educate patients about oral hygiene and post-treatment care.
- Take and develop X-rays, assist with impressions, and maintain study models.
- Follow infection control protocols, protect patient confidentiality, and comply with workplace regulations.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation, including scheduling and patient intake when needed.
- Help the dentist manage dental and medical emergencies by maintaining CPR certification, emergency drug and oxygen supplies, and an emergency telephone directory.
