About The Position

The Ecclesial Schools Initiative is launching and operating a network of neighborhood schools planted in local churches, offering a rich learning atmosphere, classical liberal arts curriculum, and formative Christian practices to children of diverse social and economic backgrounds. We are educating children from the heart of the Church for the life of families, communities, and ultimately the world. The Family Relationship Manager is responsible for cultivating, fostering, and maintaining a network of sustainable long-term relationships that invite families into meaningful educational partnerships with the school. These relationships begin during the recruiting and admission process and continue beyond graduation. Understanding the need to honor our admission processes, and at the same time be relational with families, is crucial to the success of this position. The Family Relationship Manager reports to the Director of Engagement and will collaborate with the engagement coordinator at each campus location. A key component of this role will be to meet regularly with campus deans and work closely with colleagues to foster strong relationships with the families on our campuses. This position will manage admission and enrollment towards our goal of making our process a relational journey from start to beyond graduation.

  • Undergraduate degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited institution
  • Experience working in highly social and relational contexts
  • At least 5 years of prior experience in admission, guidance, or another related field that requires managing relationships with families and students
  • Experience in cross-cultural communication
  • Experience with technology such as Microsoft suite and/or Google applications

Responsibilities

  • Oversee family recruitment, admission, and enrollment, providing input to ensure we are visible to potential families that are looking for a school through their relationships (trusted sources of information) and technology (researching your school online)
  • Manage a cycle of admission events — including scheduling family tours, assessments and interviews
  • Connect with prospective parents utilizing phone, email, mail and other non-face-to-face interactions
  • Educate prospective families to ensure mission alignment and timely communication with families regarding acceptance, interest list, or denial of admission.
  • Maintain a proactive stance towards retention and re-enrollment at each campus and in every grade, keeping an informed sense of school culture
  • Maintaining ongoing awareness of a family’s status and progress through the admissions and enrollment process.
  • Directing the admissions process from initial parent contact through completion of enrollment, coordinating with assistant dean, school administrator, and bus director as needed.
  • Provide a warm experience for families in all interactions with the school
  • Collaborate with the advancement team with internal marketing strategies that promote word of mouth through current parents, students, faculty, and staff
  • Work with deans and leadership to ensure internal messaging is consistent with our mission and vision.
  • Oversee the invitation, coordination, and welcome of families throughout the period of connection and admission
  • Deepen the engagement between admission and campus leadership while on-boarding new families and their children.
  • Cultivate families as school partners, developing their commitment beyond tuition to volunteering and even giving
  • Ensure retention and “re-recruitment” of the child each year – specifically identifying the value proposition for their families
  • Help move the family from a transactional stance (I pay for a product) to a mission stance (we are partnering with school for the good of our children)
  • In either stance, ensuring that each year’s academic offerings, including shares of tuition required, is not just presented but “marketed” to the family
  • Support and prepare the family as it plans for next level of education, especially
  • Be proactive in family relationship management, especially by managing potential conflict with families, seeing them as partners, clients.
  • Works closely with the Enrollment Coordinator to ensure data is managed properly (e.g., numbers of students in grade levels on each campus)
  • Works in Veracross and can report out of Veracross on admission and enrollment
